Way too many blow outs, but then they worked great for us when he was in the size 3s, but now I bought a box of size 4s for my youngest and they are SO thin. (I LOATHED Huggies with a passion when my first was a newborn. You might prefer certain brands at certain ages. Stack it with a manufacturer’s coupon from the newspaper for 1.50 off, and your total is now 3. They might go through certain sizes really fast and each of mine have been different with which sizes they go through quickly.
Depending on the shape of your baby certain brands will work better than others.

Babies have sensitive skin and might have reactions to the brand you purchase. I think there are just WAAY too many variables with diapers to really make a stockpile work as well as just saving money, like: 1. Total HIPPO, but instead of stockpiling diapers why not stock pile money?! Save as much as you can now! (Diapers for me range about $25-$30/mo/kid so in the scheme of things just not that much).
